work

Enjoyed a nice dinner out with Grandpa E., Boy #2, and my dear husband, at Denny’s. We had a nice discussion of politics - George Bush and North Korea, nuclear arms proliferation, and tulip mania.

Then I headed back into work for some much needed overtime.  Put in 3 hours and headed back home, and off to sleep.  This morning is a 6 to 2:30 shift and I am sssllleeeeeepy.

same old same old

Last night they had “Family Game Night” at the library and the boys and I came and played Munchkin.  Today Grandpa E. is watching the boys while their Dad and I are both working.

No big plans for the weekend or anything.  Looking forward to getting my stimulus check soon.

Otherwise, life is same-old.

weekend

Not much new to update you with.  We had a nice Munchkin evening on Friday with my brother, and introduced it to radiantreader.  Saturday we went to my cousin’s kid’s birthday party, and then afterwards went to an old friend’s housewarming party.  Today is father’s day… Boy #1 made a card for Dad and James offered his hugs and undying love.  It’s laundry/cleaning/otherwise lazy day.

We’re starting to feel a little broke right now, so we’re beginning to watch our spending more closely, which translates to no more McDonald’s Iced Coffee or Starbucks Iced Tea (black, unsweetened).  And more ice water.  And shopping at Aldi’s.  And saving coupons and looking for deals.  All things we should probably do anyway.  No terribly exciting plans for the week.  Work, sleep, etc.  Woo.

Spice flow, and internet stupidity

Not much going on this way that is blog-worthy.  Boy #1 is enjoying his digital animation class.  Work is fine.  Staying up too late lately for no particular reason, so am generally tired.

Weekend, slacking review

Most of the weekend was spent not really doing much of anything, or playing Munchkin.  ;-)

Boy #2 starts a Digital Animation course this week at the local university.

This week, I actually have to work all week.  I actually only worked, with vacation days, travel days, sick days, and comp days, 12 days, from the beginning of May til now.  Nice.

This weekend we have a birthday party for my cousin’s kid, followed by a friend’s housewarming party.

Life is good.

Photoshopped sky, hotel

Today the sky looked photoshopped to me.  ;-)

Packing right now, heading out to the hotel a bit later (training in Chicago this week):

Munchkin!

Yesterday we got a new board game called Munckin and played it with the boys.  We started about 9 pm and didn’t actually finish the game (one game!) until about 1 AM!  We really are late night gamers now!  ;-D

Go down in the dungeon. Kill everything you meet. Backstab your friends and steal their stuff. Grab the treasure and run.

Here are the rules.  Basically, it’s a card game, with each card playing off of each other.  And it’s FUN!

3 to 6 players… I would say the more the merrier.  There are also several expansion packs (which we have a strong urge to buy ALL of) which will make the game more interesting… imagine combining the main decks (basic adventuring) with a super-spy theme or a Cthulu theme!

This morning when I woke up, the boys were quietly playing it on the living room floor.  ;-)

Meanwhile, here are some links I’ve collected recently…

The Wonder Blog, and some links

Not much to report for today.  The boys had a field trip to a Honey Bee Farm, in which they learned about honey bees and brought home some honey and honey candy.  Boy #2 was inspired by this enough to begin a blog, called The Wonder Blog.

Tomorrow the boys have another field trip to a recycling center.  They have some crushed cans they have collected up to submit for cash.

Also, Grandma and Grandpa M. brought home some plain looking rocks from their trip to New Mexico, and the boys discovered that the rocks were actually geodes when they cracked them open with hammers.

Some links of interest…

Memorial day post

Quick update… been off line pretty much since Wednesday…

Thursday night we went to see INDY!  It was awesome, and I highly recommend it to all.

Saturday night my brother came over for movie night.  We watched SuperBad, which we have seen before but he had not.  It’s quite hilarious, though extremely vulgar (for those of you who don’t dig that sort of thing).

We threw a little barbecue on Sunday and had some folks over for brats, hot dogs, and burgers.  It was a success.  Today we spent the day with a friend, playing Scrabble and chatting, and lit up our new fire pit for the first time.  Again, a success.  Tomorrow… laundry day and then back to work on Wednesday.

And here are a couple of links of interest, dear readers…
