Guidelines

• Avoid fast food.  Choose cheap diners over drive-thrus, and home-made fare over everything.
• Try camping and/or couchsurfing.
• Try to leave off the A/C.
• Keep tires inflated.

Packing checklist

• Bring a cooler to load up with water and soda.
• Pick up cheap snacks from the grocery store rather than gas stations.
• Tire gauge

• Visit places that have mold-o-ramas
• Go letterboxing
• Go geocaching
• Go to a taping of the Stephen Colbert show
